Twenty nine leaves of watercolor drawings of Japanese dragonflies, identified in Japanese and by an unidentified Japanese artist, sent with a 4 p. letter to his publisher in Boston, Little, Brown and Company, dated Tokyo, 1900 Oct. 25. The drawings were meant to be included in A Japanese miscellany (Boston, 1901) and used to illustrate the chapter Folklore gleanings: Dragon-flies. Some were eventually published, though in black and white. With a suggested table of contents and a drawing of a toy Daruma.
